A pioneer in the care of seniors since 1875, Isabella provides a continuum of services on its own campus in northern Manhattan and in the community at large.
As an affiliated agency of the MJHS Health System, Isabella and MJHS share rich histories and a common mission, values and commitment to caring for diverse populations when they are most vulnerable. As the Administrator you will be tasked to plan and direct operations of the nursing home based on policies established by (in collaboration with) the Executive team and/or governing board and within the scope of Federal and DOH regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor the day-to-day activities of the interdisciplinary team to ensure the safety of residents, patients, families, and staff in a financially responsible manner. Maintain effective relationships and open communication with patients, families, staff, contractors, and the outside community in collaboration with corporate management as appropriate.
- Develop and Maintain standards, policies, programs, and operating procedures which comply with federal and state regulations. Actively promotes the Company’s Mission, Vision Philosophies and Beliefs in all daily interactions.
- Prepare overall annual NH Budget within guidelines set by the financial executive team and. collaborates with department leaders on budget adjustments according to the need of the facility.
- Monitor monthly (or as needed) performance of facility in relation to the budget and intervene as appropriate. Actively participate in various interdisciplinary, resident and family meetings.
- Leads team through audits, DOH Survey and response to federal and state official inquiries and investigations. Assure adequate preparation for regulatory compliance surveys.
- Initiates specialized interdisciplinary committees to address issues and concerns in a creative and financially responsible manner to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, patients, and staff. Establish programmatic and financial goals in collaboration with leadership for the facility and conduct ongoing evaluation of goal achievement.
- Prepare official reports for the nursing home’s governing body and state and federal agencies. Collaborates with other business line teams to meet organizational wide goals.
- Actively promotes the Company’s Mission, Vision Philosophies and Beliefs. Represents the Nursing Home and the Organization industry meetings conferences and initiatives. Develops and maintains positive interactive partnerships with associated facilities.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree preferred.
- Credits in Health Administration field or equivalent.
- Minimum 4 years (5 years)’ Nursing Home experience as an Administrator.
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as an administrator in a NYS nursing home.
- Experience in a unionized environment a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft word, excel and E-Mail.
- NYS Nursing Home Administrator License.
